Ignoring all the reviews in the world, I guess that the best judge of what I really like is the equipment that I actually own and regularly use.
I generally don’t keep a whole ton of boards, there isn’t a garage full of them, if I don’t use a board any more I will sell it and get something new.
Here is a list of all the snowboarding stuff that I own and use:
Snowboards
This one is still what I consider to be one of the best do it all boards, one that I doubt I will ever sell.
Even though this is actually a lot of fun to ride, this one is going to stay on my wall just because it looks so good.
Bindings
I have had a few pairs of these, they are a tough and reliable, decently stiff binding that I never need to worry about breaking.
Originally bought as bindings to go on my park board, these were surprisingly good for everything.
Nitro Team Pro
To me these are the Nitro equivalent of the Cartel X.
Boots
Tough, comfortable boots with adjustable flex.
Pants
Burton AK Cyclic
2L Gore-Tex pants, very solid.
Quiksilver Snow Down Gore-Tex
Solid Gore-Tex shell pants, cuffed.
Quiksilver Beater Pants
Simple lightweigh shell pants.
Yuki Threads Genki Pants
Loose and baggy pants, 15k ratings.
Jackets
Arc’teryx Beta
A lightweight Gore-Tex shell that isn’t really made for snowboarding, but does everything that I need it to do. No wrist gaiters, underarm zips or powder skirt, pretty basic but good weather protection.
Quiksilver Dominate
Fully featured Gore-Tex jacket, pockets for everything.
Goggles
Oakley Line Miner L
Great vision, very nice lenses.
Oakley Fall Line L
Frameless version of the Line Miner L.
Anon M4
Quick to change magnetic lenses, although not as nice as Oakley, the magnetic facemask is a giant plus in bad weather.
Anon M3
Same as above, but with slightly narrower field of vision.
Mitts:
Warm, dry and comfy leather and Gore-Tex mitt – hard to beat.
Burton Gore-Tex Mitt
Warm, but the stitching tore the first day I had it, it won’t be used again.
Socks:
Le Bent Core Light/Ultralight
Nice merino and bamboo socks.
Base Layers:
Le Bent Core Top
Lightweight, soft and warm merino and bamboo thermal top.
Burton Midweight Pants
Decent synthetic thermal pants.
Burton Midweight Crew
Decent thermal top, with thumbholes to keep the sleeves in place.
Helmet
Blak Park
I’ve had this one for a few years now, it has taken a bit of a beating so it does need to be upgraded.
