The Westmark comes in two versions, the Rocker and Camber. The Rocker version has a looser feel than the camber version, with easier entry and exit out of turns, as well as better float in powder, and a more forgiving feel.

The Westmark Rocker has Grip Tech, which has a complicated technical explanation, that I’ll try to explain simply.

On a regular snowboard with a Radial Sidecut, the sidecut is cut out of one large circle. On the Westmark the sidecut is made up of 3 different circles (tri-radial).

Other brands who use multiple radius/circles to create the sidecut normally blend the different circles together, to create a smoother transition on the edge of the board.

With Grip Tech they leave the points that are normally blended, which means that you get extra grip (or edge hold) under the bindings. This solves a few problems, because with rocker boards you normally have pretty poor edge hold as the contact points are up and out of the snow.

Flathead tips are a bit wider than normal, and the extra surface area means that you have a more solid area for presses, buttering and ollies.

Its medium soft flex is soft enough that you can press is easily, but it is still stable enough to be ridden fast and taken off bigger jumps.

The Single Malt Core is made of 100% poplar wood, which is sustainably grown.

The Biax glassing is two layers of fiberglass that five a soft and responsive feel, that is forgiving and smooth.

360 Degree rails just mean that the rails/edges of the board go all the way around the tip and the tail of the board, giving some extra protection against damage to the tip and tail.

There is a hard and fast sintered base, that is good at soaking up wax, and keeping you going fast.

Arbor board have a quite long 3 year warranty.

Who is the Westmark good for?

The Westmark is going to be a good board for intermediate to advanced riders, who wants a medium/soft park board. The Rocker version is going to much more forgiving, though the flex will still hold up if you are riding bigger features. If you like the sound of that, but want to hit more jumps, the camber version might be a better choice.

Either way, both are going to be just as fun all over the mountain, with the Grip Tech you’ll still be fine on icy days and the fast base will keep your speed up even on hot slushy days.
