What’s new this year?
They still use the craziest names for the features on their boards, so hopefully the descriptions below will help explain what you are really getting.
Whenever the core has “FSC” in the front of the name, that means that the wood used has been certified from the Forest Stewardship Council. They come from managed forests that have been certified for protection of the biodiversity and wildlife habitat, and have sustainable harvest levels.

Capita Camber Profiles
Alpine V1 Profile
The profile that is used on their freeride boards, it has a large camber section in the middle for stability and pop, with a reverse camber nose for float and a smaller zero/flat and reverse camber section on the tail.
Alpine V2 Profile
Just used on the Kazu Pro and Supernova, it has positive camber throughout most of the board, with a reverse camber nose for float in deep snow, as well as a smoother entry to turns.
Resort V1 Profile
Used on quite a few of their most popular models, this profile is a mix that works really well. Between your feet it has positive camber, a flat section outside of your feet and a tin bit of reverse camber at the contact p
oints. It means that you get a stable and poppy ride with good edge hold from the camber, but with a more forgiving feel and easy start to turns from the zero/reverse camber sections.
Resort V2 Profile
Positive camber under your feet gives the board stability and pop, while the reverse camber sections give more float in powder.
Resort V3 Profile
Quite similar to the Resort V2 Profile, but with traditional tip and tail arcs rather than the Flat Kick version.
Park V1 Profile
As close as you can get to a full positive/traditional camber , there is just a tiny zero camber or flat section at the contact points.
Park V2 Profile
Flat under your feet, with rocker on the nose and tail for a forgiving and looser feeling ride/
Park Mini Profile
Flat inside your feet, then reverse camber out towards the nose and tail of the board. Very easy to ride and turn.
Surf Rocker Profile
Flat under your feet, with a lot of rocker on the nose and a smaller amount on the tail for float in deep snow.
Surf Rocker Twin Profile
Positive camber between your feet for more pop, a little flat section then rocker on the nose and tail for float in powder in both regular and switch directions.
Party Profile
The profile just used on the Slush Slashers, it is mainly flat, with a little rocker on the tail and a big Flat Kick nose to easily float in powder or slush.
Base Materials
Just like with every brand, basically there are two types of bases – Sintered and Extruded. Extruded are cheaper, softer and easier to fix and don’t need much maintenance. As long as you are prepared to actually wax your board, Sintered bases will ride much faster. There are difference levels of sintered, which are mostly how dense they are, and if they have any additives added in to help increase speed or reduce the friction on snow.
Hyperdrive
The top level base, it is a hard and dense material, that has carbon added.
Powder Drive
Just used on the Spring Break powder boards.
Quantum Drive
Their regular sintered base, that is used on the majority of their boards.
Superdrive EX/FX
An extruded base, that is on the harder end of the scale, but isn’t true sintered. The EX is their original version, while the FX is a newer version that is a bit clearer for sharper base graphics.
XXX[TRUDED]
A plain and simple extruded base that is just used on their kids boards.
Capita Super D.O.A.
The upgraded version of the Defenders of Awesome was added last season, and ended up being a very popular option. There are a few changes to the core this season, with the addition of Polyethelene Terephthalate (broken down plastic bottles) into strips, as well as larger 50mm carbon strips to add pop and reduce weight. The rest of the features are what you would expect from a board this high up in the line – everything to make it fast and light.

Capita Mercury
The Mercury keeps all the same features from last season, which is a good thing – no need to change it if it works. It is definitely an all-mountain board, that has enough camber to feel solid in all conditions, and enough rocker to float in deep snow. Although the flex rating says it is only a 6.5/10, it feels more aggressive than that to me. It is a fast, solid board that can ride everywhere.
