What has changed in the 2021 line of Jones boards?
All their regular snowboards now have 3D Base Contour (spoon in the nose and tail), though not all of the splitboards do.
There is a new model, the Stratos – as well as big changes to the Mountain Twin and Ultra Mountain Twin.
A few of their boards now have a new Float Pack, which is an extra set of inserts that will let you set your bindings way back, for riding on the deepest days.

Base Contours
Down from last year where there were 4 options, there are now 3 levels of Base Contour.
Base Contour 1.0
The least amount they offer, which has 2mm of spoon in the nose and tail.
Base Contour 2.0
Has 4mm of spoon in the nose and the tail.
Base Contour 3.0
The highest level, with 7mm of spoon in the nose of the board, and up to 7mm in the tail.
Jones Camber Profiles
Camrock
With camber through the middle of the board, you get the pop, stability and edge hold of a traditional camber board. The rocker on the nose and tail helps to make the entry to turns smooth and easy, and gives a more forgiving ride with better float in powder.
Power Camber
The closest option that Jones have to full traditional camber, the camber section extends almost the whole length of the board, with just small rocker sections at the nose and tail of the board.
Directional Rocker
Although the name makes it sound like it is mostly rocker (and it does have a lot), the camber extends under your feet and a little bit of the way towards the tail, so you still get the stability of camber, with the extra float of the large rocker nose.
Christenson Surf Rocker
A combination of flat and rocker, that gives the boards with this profile a very surfy feel, and a lot of float in deep snow.
Christenson Surf Camber / Rocker
A more aggressive profile, that still has a large amount of rocker on the nose and some on the tail, but with traditional camber between your feet for a more stable and poppy ride.
Bases
Extruded 5000
The slowest and most basic base they have, it is just used on the smallest kids boards, where speed isn’t as important.
Sintered 8000
A base material that soaks up wax easily to keep it moving quickly, and is still easy to repair.
Sintered 9900
A very dense and fast bast, it is noticeably faster.
Ultra Base
The top end option, it is made to get the fastest speeds even in warm and slushy snow, and has multiple types of wax built into it from the factory.
Topsheets
Eco-Plastic
Made from castor beans, it is light, scratch resistant and resists water and snow sticking to it.
Textured Eco-Plastic
Another made from castor beans, that has a texture added to make it a bit tougher.
FSC Engineered Veneer
A composite wood veneer, that is made from FSC certified wood.
FSC Ash Wood Topsheet
It is a thin ash wood veneer, that works as both the protecting topsheet, and ads another layer of strength to the board.
Cores
FSC Fusion
The lightest option they have, it is mostly made of paulownia with a few parts of poplar for more strength and response.
FSC Ultra
Mostly made with paulownia wood, with poplar stringers for added strength.
FSC Ultra Split
A split version of the Ultra core.
FSC Power
A triple density core, with hardwood bamboo stringers as well as paulownia for plenty of strength and pop.
FSC Control
It has a 2:1 ratio of paulownia with poplar stringers, to keep it light but quite damp.
FSC Control Split
A split version of the Control core.
FSC Bamboo Surf
It is made with paulownia stringers, it also has bamboo stringers in the sidecut for better edge response.
FSC Classic
A full poplar core that is simple, has an even flex and good pop.

Jones Mountain Twin
Although it looks pretty much the same, there have been quite a few changes in this seasons Mountain Twin, so it’s pretty much a whole new board. What’s changed? It still has the same camber profile, though it has gone from having triax fiberglass (three directions) to just biax (two directions). The Traction Tech has changed from 2.0 to 3.0, though I don’t know how or what that change involves. The sintered base material has changed from a 7000 to an 8000. While all those are fairly small changes, the big one is that it now has spoon, with the 3D Base Contour 2.0, so it will have a different feeling ride from previous seasons.
