The DC Focus is a low cost loose and forgiving snowboard, that is good for beginners who are upgrading to their own gear, or advanced riders who want an affordable jib board.
The Focus has the Anti-Camber profile, which means that it is flat between the inserts (bindings) and then rocker towards the tip and the tail of the board.
The flat section gives you a stable feel when you are riding straight and fast, and the rocker sections help keep the board loose and forgiving.
It is a true twin shape, so that means that it will ride the same no matter whether you are riding it in regular or switch (backwards) directions.
The tips and tails have one DC features called Radius 2 Flat, which means that the nose and tail curve up, then blend to a flat section. Most boards curve in a smooth line the whole way to the end of the board.
The advantage of the Radius 2 Flat means that you give a larger flat section for balancing presses, and it also helps lift the nose in deep snow.
It has a medium flex, so it is solid enough to keep you going fast, but you can still press and butter it without much effort.
Relative to the board size, it has a fairly small sidecut radius, which means that the board is going to turn easily and quickly when you want it to.
The 3 degree edges help get rid of the catchy feeling for beginner riders, and they also help for people who buy this as a jib board. Because the base angle is already at 3 degrees, you don’t have to do such a big detune for riding rails.
The Focus doubles up and has some good features for both beginners and advanced jibbers
