The Burton Freestyle are cheap, simple, entry level bindings that are designed for beginner snowboarders.
The Freestyles are designed as a low cost option for new snowboarders or people upgrading from using rental gear.
They have a soft flex rating, that Burton rate as a 3/10. Soft bindings are good for beginners, as they give you a loose and forgiving ride.
They are Re:Flex bindings, which mean that you are able to fit these bindings to any board, whether it has the standard mounting system, Channel or 3D.
The straps are simple, and the toe strap is a convertible design, which means that it can be used as a cap (around the toes) or as an old style toe strap (over the toes).
Although they are entry level, they are still quite adjustable. You can adjust the forward lean, highback rotation, and ladder mounts to fit your boot well.
Pros
- Cheap
- Adjustable
Cons
- Cheaper plastic feel on highback/baseplate
If you are just starting out and are looking at a pair of Freestyles, they do a decent job for the price. Though if you can afford to spend a little more, try to find some upgraded Burton Customs on sale.
