Ride Machete GT 2017
The 2017 version of the Ride Machete GT has a little bit softer flex than the 2016 model, but with the same pop.
Features of the Ride Machete GT
- Twin Hybrid Rocker
There is a camber section under your feet for pop and stability at high speed, and then big rocker sections at the tip and tail to help give the board more float, and forgiveness.
- Popwalls Slimewalls
The slimewalls are sidewalls made from urethane, which is good at absorbing impacts and keeping the ride damp. The popwalls version has carbon fiber sections that start at the inserts (where you mount the bindings) and extend out towards the contact points.
- 5/10 Flex
Middle of the range flex, so it won’t be too much work to press and butter the board, but it will still hold up on rough terrain at high speed without being too soft.
- Carbon Array 5 Laminates
Carbon stringers extend out from under the bindings to the contact points.
- Cleave Edge Steel
Thicker than normal edges, which are made to handle impacts from riding rails, so hopefully they can take more of a beating than regular sized edges.
- Hybrid Glass
A combination that has triaxial glass on top, with biaxial glass on the bottom. You end up with a good mix of torsion and stiffness that will handle well at speed.
- Fusion 4000 Base
A sintered base material, that is hard and fast. It does a good job at soaking up wax and keeping the board moving fast.
- Performance Tuned Core
This core is made up of Aspen wood with bamboo and Paulownia to get a balance between strength and weight.
- 2×4 Inserts
- Topless Construction
- Die Cut Base Swap
The die cut base just means that the base colors will vary on different sizes of the board.
