Burton Ripcord 2017
The Burton Ripcord is an entry level snowboard that is an ideal first board, or a step up for someone who normally rents.
Features of the Burton Ripcord 2017
- Flat Top
The board is flat between your feet, which gives you a stable area. The tip and tail of the board are rockered, which keeps the board easy to turn, with a looser easy ride.
- Directional Shape
The nose of the board is a little bit longer thna the tail, which helps give it extra float in deep snow, and more pop in the tail.
- 5mm Taper
The nose of the board is 5mm wider than the tail, which helps to make turns easy, as well as giving the board extra float in deep snow.
- Directional Flex
The Ripcord has a stiffer flex in the tail (so there is more pop in the tail) than the nose.
- FSC Certified Fly 900g Core
A simple core, that has a soft flex.
- Biax Fiberglass
Two directions of fiberglass give the board a soft and forgiving feel, that is perfect for beginner riders who want an easier ride.
- Extruded Base
The extruded base material is tough, and doesn’t need much maintenance. It helps to keep the overall cost of the board down.
- The Channel
They work best with Burton EST bindings, but you can pretty much put any brand of bindings on a Channel board without a problem now. You get much more options for stance width, and angles with a Channel board.
- Easy Bevel
The easy bevel means that the edges are lifted away from the snow, which gives a more forgiving ride, and makes it harder to catch an edge.
- Squeezebox Low
The core of the board has thick and thin sections, which mean that the board is softer between the feet, and stiffer outside the feet.
- 3 Year Warranty
- 156cm Wide
- 158cm Wide
- 162cm Wide

Just used it last weekend.
Must say that for the price it’s a no brainer.
Smooth, sharp, weightless for moments.
i absolutely love the Burton ripcord snowboard. I don’t think you could go wrong with purchasing any burton product, but I recommend this board. Evo offered a great price on a great board. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it already, and I feel very comfortable and safe riding it. I recommend this board to anyone, especially those beginner and intermediate riders!
My product arrived a few days late.
This is the first personal board that I’ve owned — I’ve always rented my equipment, so take my review with that in mind. The stability of this board did wonders for my snowboarding experience. The snow was OK, icy in some places, but I felt very confident on this board once I figured out the balance and lightness while on the board. Never crashed once and was confident riding faster than I ever had.
I begin to learn snowboarding in Jan 2014, so I am a real beginner. This board is cheap but have everything for me. I am very happy to have this inexpensive all-mountain board.
Great board, very forgiving and easy to ride. I’m 6’1” 245 lbs and a beginner rider with some experience. The 159 rode great, very flexible and it’s hard to catch an edge while riding. A little better at lower speeds, but a great starting board that you can grow into.
