Burton Feelgood Flying V Review
The Burton Feelgood Flying V is made to give you the control of a camber board, with the balance of a catch free and fun rocker board.
The Flying V bend (or camber profile) is a rocker shape overall, with small camber sections. In between your feet there is a rocker section, that changes into a camber section under each of your feet, the changes back to rocker towards the tip and the tail.
The benefits of rocker mean that you have a playful feel, that is easy to turn and helps your float in powder. The camber sections under your feet help to give you some edge hold and some more stability when you are riding fast.
The Directional shape means that the nose of the board is a little bit longer than the tail, which helps for smooth turns, keeping the nose up in powder and give an overall stable ride.
Although the shape of the board is directional, the flex is twin, which means that the board flexes the same whether you are riding it in regular or switch.
The core is made up of a combination of strong and light woods, so that the board is still responsive, light and strong. To help with edge hold and to add some extra strength, the wood under the bindings is aligned to the edges of the board, rather than to the tip and tail.
It has a Sintered WFO base, which is a hard and fast material, so you’ll be riding fast all season. On top of that, the base material has warm and cold temperature waxes built into it, so you are good to go as soon as you take it out of the wrapper.
There are 60 Degree Carbon Highlights, which adds a carbon layer to the board, which reduces the weight, but still keeps the easy to move and playful feel.
There is a feature called Frostbite Edges, which means that the edges extend out a little from under your bindings, to help add edge hold on icy days.
