Burton Clash 2017
The Burton Clash is a snowboard for people who want to make the upgrade from renting a snowboard, to owning their own. It is designed to be easy to ride, to help you push your riding so you are always getting better.
Features of the Burton Clash 2017
- Flat Top Bend
This profile is flat between your feet, which changes into an early rise rocker out towards the tip and tail of the board. The flat section gives you stability, while the rocker ends keep it loose and forgiving.
- Directional Shape
It has a directional shape, which means that the nose of the board is slightly longer than the tail. Even though it is directional, you can still ride it switch.
- 3-6mm Taper
The taper on the board means that the nose is 3-6mm wider than the tail (depending on the size of the board), which helps to make starting turns smooth and easy, and the wider nose helps to keep the board afloat in deep snow.
- Twin Flex
Although the shape of the Clash is directional, the flex of the board is twin, so it will have the same flex feel in both the regular and switch directions.
- FSC Certified Super Fly 800g Core
This core is made up of a combination of a hard and soft woods, so that it gets a balance between weight, snap and response.
- Dualzone EGD
The grain of the core along the toe and heel edge is perpendicular to the rest of the core, to give a little more strength (and they say add edge hold).
- Extruded Base
A tough base material, that keeps the cost of the board down. Extruded bases don’t need much maintenance, so you won’t have to worry if you don’t wax it often.
- Biax Fiberglass
This fiberglass means that the board is soft and flexible torsionally (twisting), which works well for beginner riders, and people who like a forgiving ride.
- Squeezebox Low
The profile of the core changes with thick and thin sections, which are designed to make the board easier to ride. There is a softer flex between the bindings, with a stiffer areas just outside the feet.
- The Channel
They work best with Burton EST bindings, but you can pretty much put any brand of bindings on a Channel board without a problem now. You get much more options for stance width, and angles with a Channel board.
- Cruise Control Edge Tune
The edges are tuned so the board has an easy ride, that doesn’t want to catch, so you can push your riding faster, without being worried about catching edges all the time.
- 3 Year Warranty
- 157cm Wide
- 160cm Wide
- 164cm Wide
If you have bigger feet, and have boots sizes 11 or up, have a look at getting one of the wide sizes, so that you can avoid getting toe or heel drag.

I use the board for an all mountain board and works great
The clash is very good at helping you become a better snowboarder. This board is very forgiving which makes progressing easy but it isn’t soooo soft that it’s not rideable, either. Basically, it’s a great board to help build your confidence.
The new clash is so cool. It really helped me progress my snowboarding. This year it features the channel for the first time and since I’m still learning and progressing, I’m also always changing my stance around. It’s so easy with the channel! It also has a 3 year warranty because Burton is really backing the channel! Great beginner to intermediate board for someone on a budget that will help progress their riding.
The board came exactly as described and is nice and flexible making it an easy but effective board to ride! Fun and sexy!
This Snowboard is great for beginner to intermediate. It’s very stable at all speeds and eeasy to learn on. I would definitely recommend trying this if your new to the sport.
