Airblaster Trenchover Jacket

The Airblaster Trenchover is a pullover style, shell jacket that has longer fit with 15k/10k ratings. It is the first pullover style jacket that I have bought, and I have pretty much gotten used to getting it on and off not. It is more awkward to begin with, but you figure it out pretty quickly. One other thing that takes a bit of getting used to is connecting the powder skirt (which connects on the side), but other than that it is just like a normal jacket.

It has a sort of loose and longer fit, and I ended up buying a large where I normally buy XL. The length is good, and there is enough length in the arms which is normally my problem when buying outerwear.

One of the most important things I look for when buying a jacket is the wrist gaiters, I couldn’t live without them. This jacket has lycra wrist gaiters, that are soft and stretchy, and don’t cut into your hands even after long days of riding.

Features of the Airblaster Trenchover Jacket

  • 15k Waterproof Rating
It has a pretty good waterproof rating, that is going to keep you dry inside the jacket even if the snow is really wet.
  • 10k Breathability Rating
A good breathability rating, that helps to stop the jacket from becoming stuffy.
  • Fully Taped Seams
All the seams on the jacket are taped, which stops snow and moisture from getting inside the jacket through the seams of the material.
  • Shell
There isn’t any insulation in this jacket, so if it is cold you need to add extra layers underneath.
  • Underarm Vents
If the weather warms up, or you are out hiking, you can open the underarm vents to get rid of any extra built up heat.

  • Relaxed Long Fit
Although it isn’t super baggy, there is plenty of room to add extra layers underneath if the weather is cold. The back tail of the jacket is longer as well.

  • Midweight Oxford Fabric
  • Cat Spray Media Hole with External Player Access
A place to put your phone and a little hole that you can run your earphones through to the inside of the jacket.
  • Glacier Series Trims Package
  • 2 Zipper Handwarmer Pockets
    Front handwarmer pockets.
  • Lycra Wrist Gaiters
Soft and stretchy wrist gaiters stop any snow from getting into the sleeves of the jacket if you do put your hands down into deep snow.
  • Removable Powder Skirt with Pass Window
You can connect the powder skirt together to make a tight seal around your pants. That will stop powder from getting up and inside the jacket.

  • Side Entry for easy on/off
Because it is a pullover style jacket, it is a bit harder to get it on and off. On the left side of the jacket there is a long zip, that opens it right up, and makes getting it on and off much easier.

  • YKK Zippers Throughout
The side entry zipper has an extra long metal bit at the bottom (pictured), which clicks or snaps together nicely, as a good backup incase the metal press stud came undone.
